Dr. Zack Lim Eng Hock earned his PHD in Civil Engineering at IIC University in 2018. He also earned his bachelor degree as a production engineer from The City University (London) in year 1981. He worked for 6 years in the construction industry before setting up his own company specialized in building factories and warehouses. Having conducted over 50 seminars and workshops, he was certified as a Trainer by Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) in July 2016.

Dr. Zack introduced Superflat Floor in Malaysia in year 1998 by importing technology from Australia when he was awarded to build the Nestle Distribution Centre as a main contractor. In year 2000, Zacklim Flat Floor Specialist was incorporated to venture into specializing in the construction of super flat floors which Asia lacks and later having achieved building floors of world class standards. Over 33 years in construction, he has amassed great experience and gained international recognition having constructed industrial flooring jobs in Asia. He has been actively involved in working with and advising young engineers, contractors & ready-mixed suppliers and extolling the virtues of best practices of concrete flooring construction.

He was Immediate Past President of American Concrete Institute (ACI) Kuala Lumpur Chapter and had organized seminars, networking sessions to develop the standard of concrete construction and related trades not only in Malaysia but also in Asia.

He is the founding member of Concrete Floors Asia (CFA) consisting 11 international professional members with the objective of delivering best practices in floor construction and to promote world-class standard floors in Asia.

He is the Vice President of Concrete Society of Malaysia (CSM) and also a council member of Asian Concrete Construction Institute (ACCI) with objective to foster regional integration for the concrete and construction fraternity and to promote excellence in the industry through pooling of information, seminars, talks and technical visits and also to provide a communication channel for government of the region to solicit advice on construction related matters

She obtained her Bachelor in Civil Engineering Degree in 1988 from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, US. She worked as a Researcher in SIRIM Berhad from 1992 before furthered her study in University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia and obtained her Ph.D in Civil Engineering in year 1999. She joined Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 2000 as a Lecturer and was promoted to Associate Professor in year 2007 and Professor in 2015. Her active involvement in professional bodies is portrayed by her designation as a Secretary of Concrete Society of Malaysia (CSM), Treasurer of American Concrete Institute Kuala Lumpur Chapter and Council Member of Confederation of Scientific and Technological Associations in Malaysia (COSTAM). Based on her expertise, she has been appointed as a Chief Editor for Scientific Research Journal UiTM, member of editorial board for Malaysian Construction Research Journal (CREAM-CIDB), a reviewer for The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Journal, Journal of Engineering Science & Technology (JESTEC) and International Sustainable Construction Journal co-published by UTHM-Concrete Society of Malaysia (CSM).

During her service as academic in UiTM, she has published more than 300 papers in journals and conference proceedings at international and national levels in area of durability in concrete, lightweight concrete, high performance concrete and bio-concrete. Strengthening and repair materials for concrete structures using non-corrodible and high resistance materials to fire are the new area of her interest. She actively involved in research and consultation works and was granted totaling about RM 1 million of research grants from government agencies and industries. At present, she is supervising fifteen Ph.D students and eight (8) of them have graduated. She has been invited as a speaker for more than 20 concrete related seminar and workshop



Yeo Shih Horng has a Master’s Degree in Engineering Sciences from University of Malaya in 2013. Not only that, previously also in University of Malaya he had obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in 2009. At a young age of 32 years old, Mr. Yeo is able to establish his own company called YSH Advanced Engineering and Structures which mainly specializing in Ultra-High Performance Concrete, High Strength Concrete, Fibre Reinforced Concrete and many other more. Since then, he had worked in numerous projects with various companies. The latest projects which Mr. Yeo is currently doing is on High Early Strength Concrete Mix Design with a company from Dalian, Liaoning, China. He once also worked closely with Mr. Lim Eng Hock from Zacklim Flat Floor Specialist Sdn Bhd for a project High Early Strength Repair Material for SMART Tunnel. Not only that, since 2014 up until now, Mr. Yeo has been the consultant in the project regarding Fibre Reinforced Concrete for Mighty Shield Sdn Bhd company. He is also the Concrete Technical Expert for TUV SUD PSB (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd since 2015.

Mr. Yeo Shih Horng is also very active in associations and various activities. Firstly, he is a committee member of American Concrete Institute – Malaysia Chapter since 2010 till present. He is also the Co-op Member of the Civil and Structural Engineering Technical Division of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) in 2016. Furthermore, Mr. Yeo was the speaker when American Concrete Institute – Malaysia Chapter organized a talk at University Malaysia Sarawak.

Throughout his career, he has also published several articles regarding concrete along with few other concrete experts. One of his journal that has been published is entitled strength properties of hybrid nylon-steel and polypropylene –steel fibre-reinforced high strength concrete at low volume fraction.



Steven Lim has been involved in the construction industry for more than 20 years starting as a site supervisor for road infrastructure and progressing as a project manager responsible for 5 acres of housing development project. Subsequent to the completion of housing development project in 2004, Steven Lim has joined Zacklim Flat Floor Specialist Sdn Bhd specialising in concrete flooring works.

Steven Lim pursued his further study in obtaining his MBA in Project Management in year 2004 from the University of Southern California in collaboration with University Of Malaysia. In year 2013, Steven Lim successfully obtained his ACI-certified Industrial & Commercial Flatworks license in Las Vegas / 2014 Dipstick USA ACI- F-Number.

Over the past 10 years with Zacklim Flat Floor Specialist Sdn. Bhd., Steven Lim has gained vast experience in constructing world class standard floors locally and in overseas including Qatar, India, Vietnam, etc.



Mr. Martin David is the founding Director of Adept Technical Services Sdn Bhd since 2004. He has been involved in the Building Industry for more than 30 years.

In the first 10 years of his career, he was a Site Technical Officer in a leading Architectural firm in Penang. He then spent 2 years overseas in Mauritius as a Construction Manager for a Malaysian construction company, building a Malaysian-owned 5-star hotel. Upon his return to Malaysia, he rejoined the architectural firm which he was previously working for in Penang. He worked there as a Project Manager for another 3 years managing mainly the construction of industrial buildings.

Soon after this, he was offered a managerial position in the sales team of one of the largest worldwide construction chemical company and spent another 8 years there.

After years of experience in the building industry and specialist construction chemical field, he decided to set up his own company, which he runs until today. With his vast knowledge and experience he gives good and helpful advice in areas of industrial flooring, waterproofing and concrete repair.



He was graduated with an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 1999. His first job after graduation was a posting to the 1st Silicon Wafer Plant construction project in Kuching where he joined the team undertaking installation works on cleanroom special coatings. The two years spent immersed in this project not only provided him with extensive experience in specialist flooring and coating works but also earned him valuable insight into construction site practice and project management.

This early part of his career set the foundations for his progression from Technical Service Engineer to his current dual role as Technical Service & Training Manager / Product Manager (Industrial Flooring) with Mapei Malaysia Sdn Bhd. In the course of providing technical support to his colleagues, he works closely with Consultants, Project Owners, Specialist Applicators and Contractors to help achieve good practice on site. His areas of expertise include Industrial Flooring, Waterproofing, Joint Sealing, Concrete Repair & Protection and Structural Strengthening. Other notable projects he has worked on include the Penchala Tunnel, Suria-KLCC Pedestrian Walkway Tunnel, Matrade Building Refurbishments, SMART Tunnel, MRR2 Repair & Strengthening Works, KLIA 2, LRT Extension works, KVMRT, Ulu Jelai Hydroelectric Project.



Hee Teng Soo has more than 35 years’ experience in Ready Mixed Concrete Industry. His experience includes the full spectrum of Ready Mixed Concrete operations which includes Sales, Production, Quality, Logistics and Operational Management. Hee started as a technician in the industry and he retired from the industry as Learning and Development Manager.

In the 35 years span Hee has worked with Lafarge Concrete Malaysia (formerly known as Supermix Concrete Malaysia), Taimet Concrete, Firstmix Concrete and Readymix Malaysia. In Lafarge Concrete Malaysia, Hee was responsible in implementing EMS ISO14001 certification for PJ Main Plant. It was the first concrete batching plant in Malaysia to be certified to ISO14001 and also QMS ISO9001.

Hee’s passion for developing people was recognized by Lafarge Concrete Malaysia and he was tasked to put in place a long term development programs to train key personal in concrete operations. Hee was responsible to implement Plant Operator Development program to help upskill batchers competency. Among his other achievements were to develop module for training of young graduates for the industry.

Due to his experience, Hee is much sought after by the industry for inputs and ideas to address plant efficiency and concrete quality issues.

In the last few years, Hee was given due recognition by his organization for his efforts in transforming the operational best practices and improvement. In past years, Hee have attended some intensive training programs – Coaching & Mentoring, Train the Trainer, Presentation, Leadership Management skills.
